I had to wait on this post because it was about a Christmas gift to my mom. (A regular blog visitor here.) As I walked around the folk’s house, I noticed that they did not really have any good quality large photos of mom’s parents. Who else better to remedy this than a photographer?

The rub is that both of the grandparents have passed on. So the “new” photo had to come from an “old” photo. After a considerable search, I found this one taken by my dad about 20 years ago.

I figured that a 12×12 of that photo would not be an example of my best effort. So, I scanned the photo, added a new sky, did a B&W conversion, and a few other things to reach the finished product.
