This will probably come as no surprise considering the amazing efforts of her greatest fans and promoters, but Madison is the VICTOR!
The WINNER

All participants have been notified via email of the results, and everyone involved has received a small prize as well. By the way, the email I sent is the only email that you guys will receive from me.
I have also decided, due to the HUGE response, that I will be giving away 5 not 4 portrait sessions. The winners of these $200.00 prizes will be notified via email. (So, I guess that means that 5 of you WILL get one more email from me.)
When those sessions are done, you’ll see the results here! Again, THANK all of you who voted and sweated out the VERY close competition!!
In October, I was hired to shoot a portrait of local attorney, Kana Johnson. The original purpose was to have an updated yellow pages ad done. A few weeks later she sent me the ad which was created for her.
Frankly, I was a little nauseated. If you take the patter of a carnival barker and reduce it to text, this is what you get. Nearly a half dozen fonts, DMV photo (made from MY work…), clumsy alignment… It had it all.
Kana did not ask me to redesign anything, but I really could not let this be a representation of one of my clients. (If Kana is reading this, she’s probably saying, “Oh my God! My photographer is such a cheese ball!”) True, true… But she LOVED my take on what the ad should look like.
Check out the 2009 phonebook. Well, you could just have a look below. It is one of two designs I did for her.

I had the amazing opportunity to do a corporate portrait session with Columbia area attorney Kana Johnson. She wanted a more updated look for some advertising pieces. More importantly, the images needed to have a range of looks for differing markets. Downtown Columbia provided all the settings we could ever ask for. A great “model” (she speaks 4 languages by the way) a cool Autumn evening, and great light, all came together to make a great shoot!
Three quite different looks from the day.
